TASK 21. Pg. 148 29 / Nov. / 2016
Miguel Astudillo
Think of two current world leaders that you believe will be remembered in history. How did history “make” these world leaders?
Barack Obama
In my opinion, Barack Obama who is the current President of the United States of America has faced a lot of difficult situations in his personal life and his political career.  The different circumstances that this leader has had to overcome in order to reach his goals have been admirable.
Since he was only two years old he had to deal with the divorce of his parents. This fact encouraged him the wish to study hard and become a professional. Later, he started to work as a community organizer, as a civil-rights lawyer, and as a teacher before pursuing a political career. He has also written two books, one of them is his autobiography, whose children’s version, an audiobook narrated by him won a Grammy Award. Once as a President, he has worked to expand health care services and early childhood education programs for the poor. Concerning to the international politics, he has improved the relations with Europe, China and Russia and has opened dialogue with Iran, Venezuela and Cuba.
Vladimir Putin
Vladimir Putin is another world leader who has had a brilliant political career, but his path to the Russian presidency has been done in several ways. He was a very successful sportsman, later he became a KGB officer, then he became Russia's prime minister, and finally he became President of Russia.  He has being re-elected for two times serving as President for three times.
Once in his role as a Russian President, he made political and economic reforms. He restructured the government and launched criminal investigations into the business dealings of high-profile Russian citizens. About international politics, he continued Russia's military campaign in Chechnya. He supported the United States in its anti-terrorism campaign, but he opposed to the plan of war that USA had against Iraq. In addition, he visited Israel, becoming the first Kremlin leader to go there. Later, he was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Finally, after having analyzed the profiles of these two world leaders, I can say that history set appropriate time and circumstances to make these people as true leaders not only for their countries, but also for the world context because they have done memorable things in favor of the human beings in the right time and place. Their decisions certainly influenced and affected people in their countries and in other ones, but in a positive way. These things have been examples to be imitated by other leaders who want to work in favor of their countries. These correct actions have given them the right of being remembered through times by people around the world because they have left tracks that are difficult to ignore.

The Greatest Leaders Who Will Be Remembered

The greatest leaders who will be remmemberad in the history are Martin Luther King and Adlof Hitler. Those two people have made the history. Martin Luther King did a lot of things in the U.S which are stop racemes and treat African Americans equally. In the other hand, Hitller was trying to control the world by his military. Martin Luther King said that African Americans should not fight back, which means even though the police were shot the African Americans, the African Americans would not fight back, and that is one of the of the best thing that he had ever done. His famous speech that was for all the people who lived there, and it is for us. Hitler was dictator, but the people who were n Germany chose him,so that is our flout, not Hitler flout. He said in his speech i hate, i will kill, but the people were happy for him. In the world war I, Hitler had achieved many things. Hopefully, in the world war II , Hitler killed him-selves because he knew that he will lost agents Russian. He had a hard power, but he lost because he was arrogance. Those two people were the best to me because they had made history, and the history will remember them fore ever.

MFA#2 TASK6 by Shen Wang

Nelson Mandela, as the president of South Africa, also as the black human civil activist, totally practice what he preach. Because he was trying to make a big revolution and to end the dark time for black people in South Africa, Mandela was framed as a traitor of the country and be sentenced 27 years to life. After being released Mandela was dedicated to keep the movement of anti-racism. Finally, Mandela became the president  of South Africa as ANC in 1990.What Nelson Mandela did was remarkable for people in South Africa. Not only did he successfully end the system of race segregation and discrimination for black people, he also inspired many people by practicing what he preach:"I am prepared to die."quoted from him. After being the president, he was praised not only by black people nad his supporters, but also the ones who used to fight against him. In fact, Mandela was one of the most effective leader who achieve the goals with a very long period of time that almost no one else can keep on.

MFA#2 TASK6 BY ZACK

Beyond all question, Nelson Mandela, the president of South Africa, is absolutely the most qualified leader who "practice what he preach." Mandela served 27 years in prison on Robben Island. Amid international pressure and growing fear of a racial civil war, Mandela was released by President F. W. de Klerk in 1990. Mandela fought for the rights of black people and negotiated with F. W. de Klerk an end to apartheid. Finally, Mandela became the president  of the African National Congress (ANC) party from 1991 to 1997.
Not only had Mandela positively started all kinds of movements against racism and segregation, but also had never gave up what he preached even when he was in prison. There are lots of stories about Mandela united his supporters to protest against the prison guards in non-violent ways. That was the other accomplishment Mandela has achieved, which is to fight for people's rights in a peaceful way. As a matter of fact, what Mandela did is just like Martin Luther King Jr did but more effective. Unlike King, Mandela successfully made the revolution, and has totally changed the aspect of South Africa.

Leaders are people who have a big responsibility that they have to achieve their goal and make life of people who belong to them are better. It is not easy that they will be able to practice what they preach but many leader could do it. However, every leaders have different ways to influence the people follow their rules. About the political, the most of leaders in each nation come from the election. This mean that nation have a democracy that everybody have opportunity for showing their opinions. Pakistan is one nation that have a democratic system in political. Benazir Bhutto was the first woman and the eleventh prime minister of Pakistan. She was victory the prime minister election for twice. Also, she had done a lot of things especially with economic. She said "Justice is economic independence. Justice is social equality...". Moreover, she wanted to improve country's economy and she did it, but not that much. Maybe that is because she was dismissed by President who accused her administration of corruption and nepotism. Also, she care about an image of the nation that had shown  to the world. For example terrorist that include people who bomb the subway or plan to do somethings in the other countries. She would follow and take them to Pakistan. She mentioned this is not real image of Pakistan.

'' I am female political leader fighting to bring modernity, communication , education and technology to Pakistan ....''  Benazir Bhutto ,  May 2007. In my opinion ,
among the different world leaders given in the question, Benazir Bhutto is the most famous one. Benazir Bhutto was the prime minister of Pakistan. She was the 10th prime minister of that country. She was known as the ‘Iron Lady’ of Pakistan during her days.
We all know that Pakistan is an Islamic country. In those days it was unthinkable for many of the Muslim majority countries to elect a female president or prime minister. But Benazir Bhutto defeated all the difficulties to become the first female leader of Pakistan. Bhutto always believed in progress. She believed education can break all the backward rules of the society. She always fought to break those rules which keep women confined in the houses. She proved that with willpower women can win anything in the world, even can become prime minister of a country.
During her period, she was able to increase the education among the rural girls in Pakistan. Many people did not agree with her ideas. Many people were angry on her. Those people became so angry and frustrated against Bhutto that they plotted to kill her several times. But Luckily she survived all of the times. She continued to press the Pakistani society for the empowerment of women. But her efforts were stopped in 2006. She was killed in bomb blast in the capital city of Pakistan.

TASK 6

There are different types of world leaders around the world. Each of them has their own philosophies, and view of the world. But not all the world leaders practice what they believe. Many of them believe in equality, human rights, and democracy, but there are a lot who do not practice those things in their lives. One of the great example of the world leaders is Nelson Mandela. Mr. Mandela was from South Africa. He was a normal person from rural South African village. He fought really hard to achieve rights for native African people in his country. He believed in equal rights for all the people. He always said that people should not be discriminated by their race, religion, or sex. The oppressive South African government of that time tried to stop his revolution a lot of time. But Nelson Mandela was determined in his philosophy, and he never gave up. His beliefs were so strong that he was in prison for more than 25 years. Even after all those torture, and jails, he did not give up his philosophy. Finally, after 40 years of revolution, and fighting for his beliefs, the oppressive government of South Africa gave up. They returned the power to the general people of the country. Nelson Mandela became the first black president of South Africa. He proved that if someone is strong his honest beliefs, he will eventually win.

MFA #2 Task 6
"It always seems impossible until its done."---- Nelson Mandela
Mandela was the president of South Africa. He received the Nobel Peace Prize. He said the sentence  and he practiced what he said. In spite of his 27 years serving in prison, he still fight for apartheid after he was released. It is really hard for a person even a leader acheived.
Most of the political leaders can not achieve all things he or she promised. Sometimes the speeches or promisese are used to persude people to believe them. Even though the politicians had the belief at the begaining, they forget their original intentions because of the ambitious of power. To focus on and keep on working on the original belief for whole life is really an admiring thing.

MFA #2 Task 6 P 133 by Franck Koko

"Putting people first " said president Bill Clinton in 1993. Many observers believe he practiced what he said. Usually certain leaders do not practice their preach. President Bill Clinton is one of the world greatest leader because he has done a lot for the world.  For him everyone needs the peace to go to school, have a good health care and have opportunity to realize whatever he wants. For instance, president Clinton was advocate of many causes like malaria, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and of the first leader to believe to climate change with his idea greenhouse gas emissions. Also, the peace in the world,  he supervised the historic agreement between Israel and Jordan in September 1993. This agreement was a one step for the peace in Middle East because he negotiated the trait Israeli-Palestinian and the Palestine became a state. President Bill Clinton is a hard peace advocate . President Clinton said after the handshaking " I suppose that one does not make peace with one's friends ". In other words,  to be friends they are to be in peace,  so it is abnormal to fight with his friend.

MFA#2 P.133 Task 6 By Grace

Many people think that effective leaders including powerful and influence leaders must “practice what they preach.” Yes, in my opinion, no matter who you are, great people or just a normal person, you have to practice what you preach. Once you say something, you have to take the responsibility of what you said. Therefore, the effective leaders must be careful for any words and sentences they say. They know themselves are influence to the world, so they have to practice what they preach. If they make some mistakes, they would be thought about they are not important any more, or something worse.
Nelson Mandela, the first President of South Africa, was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician, and philanthropist. He was also the first elected in a fully representative democratic election. Without a doubt, he was the greatest person in South Africa and described as the "Father of the Nation". In his life, he delivered some speeches for many times, I believe that before he gave speeches, he must prepare several times for every speech. He wanted to end the apartheid, so his speech must be pretty powerful. Therefore, people believe that effective leaders must “practice what they preach”, and so do I.

MFA #2 P133 Task6 by Cha

Nelson Mandela who was a black civil human rights activist practiced what he preach. He devoted all his life to fight for black people. He fought against apartheid policy which is discriminate blacks. Because he engaged in armed struggle and his opposition , he served 27 years in prison. After he came out at the prison, he rewarded Nobel peace prize and became  president of South Africa.
His preach is coincided that everything he did in his life. According to his preach "I am prepared to die", he said "During my lifetime I have dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people. I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die".  He suffered from long time but did not give up to fight for blacks right. This endless struggle affected his followers to have a motivation about black  human rights activistion. Because of his effort, South Africa's black people's circumstance is changed to postive way. They have more right than before Nelson Mandela struggled for blacks.

TASK 6 P. 133 - Miguel Astudillo

Nelson Mandela President of South Africa
Decide if this leader practices what he preaches and whether this affects his leadership.
In my opinion, Nelson Mandela, who was a very important leader in his country, established a type of ideology that was the clue to reach his personal dreams and lead his country to get its political independence.
Mandela started his politic activity by joining the African National Congress and later was accused of conspiring against the central government of South Africa in order to overthrow it. Therefore, he was arrested several times and the last time he was sentenced to life imprisonment. After twenty seven years of having being in jail, he was released and started his negotiation with some representatives of the government to abolish the Apartheid and organize the general elections.
In his leadership, Mandela always encouraged his followers to protest peacefully as the best way of “fighting”. Even though he had been in jail for a long time and faced situations of racial segregation, he never kept resentment against the people who abused of him.  When he became President of South Africa he invited politicians from other political parties to join his Cabinet and created a new constitution that beheld the rights for the poor people as well as the expansion of health services and mainly the social reconciliation because that country was divided between black and white people.
He strongly believed in peace and in fact, he was honored with the Nobel Peace Prize. He renounced the possibility of being reelected because he wanted to give other people the chance to be the President of his country, he was convinced of the democracy and its principles. When he retired of the politic activities, he continued his work of charity through Nelson Mandela’s Foundation.

Finally, I can say that Mandela’s qualities of leader influenced the people who were around him in a positive way. His personality and way of acting was always according to what he preached. He lived for peace, died in peace, and now he rests in peace.

TASK #27 BY ZACK

In my opinion, Zebron is in a better position to get other countries to do what it wants. Because of the globalization, the world trade has been developed so well that already connected the countries together. The Mcdonald's affect at this point has somehow united the countries, thus it is less likely to start a war. As a country who views power more traditionally, Altan spends almost half of the taxes on military development, it also has built a lot military bases all sround the world. Though the hard power of military forced some small countries to do what Alton wants to, because Altan's policy on economy is trade protection, it is losing the leading position of trading market. In the contrast, Zebron encourages the free market trade, which means it has more soft power to influence other countries' policies by using economic sanctions. On top of that, in order to protect the country and deter the war, Zebron also spend almost 20% of the taxes on military. The military force of Zebron is powerful enough to defend itself.

Task #27 by Ryuta Takahashi

In my opinion, Altan seems like a democratic country. On the other hand, Zebron seems like a despotic country because a democratic country is defined as a system of government by the whole population and a despotic country is defined as a leader rules a country by using absolute power.
I think Altan is in a better position than Zebron because if both country have same power at the beginning of a competition, a despotic country's power go on gradually decreasing. The main reason is that this kind of country's economy turns into bad situation step by step because this system makes the people impoverished and a restriction of market.
In this world, the world situation could be bipolarity as the relationship of the USA and Germany at the time of WW2 because these system contain mutually incompatible elements and Zebron might tend to form an alliance with similar countries. The result of this movement, the world could separate into bipolarity.
In conclusion, I disagree with Zebron's thinking because people might not be permitted to the freedom of speech and the freedom to choose their occupation and should follow a command by authority in the country as if North Korea or Germany and Japan at the time of WW2.

Task 27 by Shen

In my opinion, the Altan has better position to get other countries to do what it wants. The Altan is

more powerful than Zebron because Altan has strong hard power. For example, they spent a lot of tax

for military, develop the hard power, and base a many militaries around the world. So they can easy

to manipulate these militaries to defend themselves if some countries want attack them. However, I

think that nowadays, not hard power can control the world, but also they need soft power too, for

example, Zebron's economy has been developing for many years, and they has many international

trade of free Marcie's. Also, they has a lot of natural resources, these things can develop and

Bildungsroman up stronger country.

MFA#1 Task27 by May

In my view, I think the country that will be able to get other countries to do what it wants should have both transitional and soft power. This is because a country which has hard a power or a strong political ideology can manipulate not only in their country but also the others. On the other hand, if that country has soft power, it will be able to persuade the other to connect its. For example, in economic, if some country has a power and effect on the other, another country will want to trade with its. Thus, Altan is better position  than Zebron because there are good for gaining. Also, it is democratic country in political due to population in its country can choose their leader who will be in government by elections, while Zebron's government is quite strict in political.

Task #27 by Hyungmin Cha

In my opinion, Altan has better position because Altan has more strong army power just like US or China. In reality world, we can recognize that if some country has strong miliary power, that country can influence other countries easily. It means not that soft power which influence in smooth ways is not important but it means that hard power is necessary part of building powerful country. When each country can protect itself, they can develop other areas safely. The world power situation is bipolarity. The two big country, Altan and Zebron, have great power which can influence other countries in hard power way and soft power ways. Both of them have a strong ideology but each ideology plays in different ways. Altan's ideology is natual and smooth way of political ideology so they can choose goverment and trade product easily. Zebron's ideology is very strict. They control their nations by coercive methods such as police and military. I think that too much oppressive way to control people is not good and also not global flow.  Some part of political areas should be strict such as security political issue area but normally country should guarantee their nation's right and behavior freely.
  Task #27 by Xinmiao Xu
In my opinion, the Altan is the country in the better position to get other countries to do what it wants.
First, the Altan has strong hard power. It may have the most advanced weapons as the country is focus on developing it. The hard power is the foundation of all the other powers. Only when the country has strong hard power, can the people and territory be protected. Also the economy will develop well as the peaceful environment is beneficial for the country to go on producting activities. As a reasult, the Altan can get other countries to do what it wants both by military ways and economic sanctions. Second, the Altan can spread its culture to the country they occupied. Thus, the people who are high educated and with technological skills are willing to immigrate to this country and the people in the occupied country will believe in the culture. In addition, if other countries do something that goes against to Altan culture and Altan wants to start a war, people in these counties will feel the war is for justice.
However, it is not that easy for Atan to control the world because the world will become multipolarity.  For example, Zebron may also be powerful and united with other powerful countries. Maybe these countries are not as powerful as Altan, but they will be stronger when they unit with each other. Sometimes the balance between these powerful unions and countries is very important to make your own country safe and economy develop. In other word, this balance make the world more peaceful.

MFA#1 TASK 27 BY GRACE

I think Altan is in a better position to let other countries do what it want. Altan has a strong military, so other countries will be afraid of it. Altan has power to let other countries listen to it. For example, there is a situation, someone is taking a gun and pointing to you, you will do everything he or she said. However, the soft power has became more and more important nowadays. For instance, Zebron has a strong political ideology. It maybe have influence to other countries instead of using strong military power.
In my opinion, a powerful country must have hard power and also soft power. Hard power can protect people from other countries attacking, on the other hand, soft power can influence other countries also. If a country only have one of both power, it could not be very powerful in the world.
Ali Almarhoon
MFA#1 P.112 TASK#27

A lot of countries have a power, but not all of have the power that they need because power has to part. The first part is that called soft power, such as, inflows. The sound part is that called hard power, which means a punch. The county must have both of the soft and hard power because sometimes people can understand you in the easy way, however, some people can understand you when you use the hard way.  Also, one kind of world power situation exists multipolarity or bipolarity is Germany in the world ward II. They used both of multipolarity and bipolarity. That means they used all the natural that they had ,and they forced people to do what they wanted. Actually, ideology and culture play a big part in policies although countries should not mix ideology and culture together because the ideology will not change , but there is a big possibility of changing culture.
Task 27

In my opinion, Altan is more likely to be able to get other countries to what I would want than Zebron. This is because from its policies, it has concentrated on aspects such as economic growth, education and technology to be its sources of power unlike Zebron which holds aspects such as population, territory, military and natural resources to be its sources of power. In addition, the type of power situation existing in Altan is multi-polarity while in Zebron the type of power situation existing bipolarity. Currently, some of the things that any country requires in order to be successful are things such as a strong economic growth, investing in the latest technology and an efficient education system. In the recent past, military power, natural resources and territory were strong indicators of success, but they are continually deceasing as a sources of power. Lastly, culture and ideology are very important in determining a country’s power. This is because if a country have a culture and ideology that is attractive, then it is in a better position to get other countries to do what it wants. If the culture and ideology of a country are not attractive, then the country has less power that it would have had on the other countries.

Dear Elizabeth

I am so sorry that nobody helped you on the last night. I am sure that the times when you wanted to get help somebody were a very dangerous situation. If the situation had occurred , I would have been so scared. I hope you clam oneself down. Maybe when you appealed for help, people could have been worry because you was tied and gagged by robber. Although the people couldn't know how you got the situation, they might have guessed that, so they might not have wanted to make problems. Also, that time was too late. Many accidents occur at night, so they could have felt fear. In addition, I can guess that the parking lot was empty at the time. If someone had realized your situation, the person would have been fear because this place and time make people very scared. Even though they wanted to help you, they didn't see anyone else who stopped to help you. This situation may impose a heavy burden on the people. In conclusion, civil inattention is part of everyday lives of people these days. However, I think that people have to pay attention to other people what they are doing. If the society change, many people will help other people who need help.
Dear Elizabeth,

I don't know how can I express  my feeling for this situation. It is sad to hear about your experience. I am glad that even after being tied you were able to make it out of the shop. But I am also angry that the robber had to tie you up. They could have taken all they wanted and left. They really didn’t have to gag you and tie you up. I also feel that the drivers shouldn’t have been indifferent. Or maybe they might have thought it was trick or they feared that if helped you they would get in trouble. This can be learning experience to always help the people in need no matter the situation.

Letter to Elizabeth

I am so sorry to hear that Elizabeth. I wish you had't had that horrible experience. I can't even imagin how scary it was.

I totally understand your anger. You migh've come close to death because people didn't help you for several hours! However, it might not have been easy to decide to help you. You were tied up at that time in the daybreak, and it migh look scary enough for other people. If people have seen you, they might've felt scared because they migh get hurt from a robber who made you tied up. It requiers
great courage to help other person who is in danger.

I'm not telling you their action was proper. They should have helped you as soon as they saw you. What I'm saying is I'd like you to try to understand that people who didn't help you. And if you realize that passing by a person who is in danger or trouble would be dangerous, please don't ignore a person who is in danger when you see this kind of situation. I hope you not to be one of bystanders like them. I'm sorry again and I hope you feel getting better as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Sangah

Letter to Elizabeth

Dear Elizabeth,

I'm so sorry to hear that you're not feeling well in your situation. I can't imagine that it is difficult situation. if I were you, I would be very upset and angry. Therefore, I see why you are very furious.  I think that the reason why people did not help you was time of  your case, it played important role to making people didn't intervene to help you. Also, it was so early (daybreak), and people could have been afraid or scared. In other words, they could have been harmful and dangerous situation, so people may have tried to be facing indifferent to not get involved or to get in a big trouble. I think you have to overcome that your furious and sad and don't think anymore. I am looking forward to seeing you in the best conditions.

kind regards,

Abdulelah

Letter to Elizabeth

Dear Elizabeth,

I am very sorry that you had to go through the scary experience. I can’t imagine what it is like to be tied and left in the darkness for all those hours. However, I would like you to think on the brighter side that you are alive, it could have been worse. I also feel sorry about the bystanders’ reactions. Probably they might have been scared to help you. We all fear tense situations. Also be grateful about the person who untied you. He could have walked away but he didn’t. I hope you get through this and feel safe again.
Best regards,
Fahad alzakari,

Letter to Elizabeth

Dear Elizabeth:
I am so sorry what happened to you. That must have been a hard time. I don't know how can I be chill out in this case because I've never had such as that experience.

I have no idea why people were so selfish at the time , but I think they might have been afraid because they might have felt you would trick them, you know recently isn't such tranquil in your city, nobody wanna get involved because they could have scared to be in a hot water . On the other hand , that happened at dawn , I guess that they were driving very fast right ? In this situation, most of them might no have seen you.

Anyway, please don't think about it anymore . Come down and forget it.

Best regards,

Diana.

Letter to Elizabeth

Dear Elizabeth

I felt sorry and sad when I heard your unfortunate event. I can't find the word to discribe your feeling because I have never been in the event such as you were involved in. And,I think you were dissapointed with bystanders who saw you were tied in your store but I can understand their minds why they didn't help you, and I think you also know their mind.

The reasons why they did't help you are that they did't want to be involved in the criminal and that they also did't have this kind of experiemce. I think even though they thought they had to help you, they couldn't do it because they needed lots brave minds or justice in order to help you. However, they could have called police, and this is they best way for them to help you.

In opposite, if you were a bystander, would you have helped anyone in this situation? I think the answer is "no".So,I hope you don't hate someone because you may be the same with them and take an advantage of this experience to help someone, and I'll not be this kind of bystander and help someone who is in some unfortunate event because I keep this story in my mind.

sincerely,Ryo

Letter to Elizabeth

Dear Elizabeth,

I'm sorry to hear that. It must have been hard time for you.
I wish there were many people who just couldn't recognize you. However, some people could have noticed.
A lot of people are always thinking "Oh, they'll take care of it".
But who is they? It's us. If we didn't, it will never change.
You should think about your experience was a good example of what not to do.
If you encounter kind of this situation which you have experienced, please don't be afraid other's thinking and do what you think you should.
I hope you'll get back to your normal routine soon.

  Sincerely,

  Yuka Endo

Letter to Elizabeth

Dear Elizabeth,
I feel sorry for you and what happened to you. I wonder why people didn’t help you. I think they might have been afraid of you because they might have felt you will trick them, take their money, or even kill them. Also, I think they could have scared to get in trouble. I think the situation and sitting effect on their reaction. Also, what the time or the place effects on the people’s reaction. Because of the time was at so early that might have effected on them to stop and help you.

Sincerely,
Amal AlQahtani

Letter to Elizabeth

Dear Elizabeth,
I feel very sorry to hear your misfortune. The reason why people didn’t stop and helped you out is that it was so early when you asked for help on the parking lot. The sight wasn’t clear on daybreak, so the people who drove the car through the parking lot couldn’t decide the situation clearly inside the car. Because of this, they didn’t stopped the car and gave you a hand. After the sight became obvious, someone might see clearly and realize that you needed help. Then, he did stop the car and untie you. The reason why your neighborhood didn’t help you is that they couldn’t understand the situation immediately. They still be willing to help you anytime if they can. Hence, do not be furious anymore.

Sincerely,

Luke

Letter to miserable Elizabeth

Dear Elizabeth

I felt sad when I heard your unforgettable story. I don’t have such an experience, but I can imagine your straggling to escape from the situation and understand your feeling.

Otherwise, I’d like you to understand bystanders’ behavior and the way of thinking. The criminal which you were involved was the unusual thing for them. They would need a lot of courage to intervene the event. Would you think your attitude toward people who are in an emergency before you have got the experience? I think you might have felt scared because there were possibilities for you to get into trouble.

I’d like you to feel so lucky because you are alive. And then, I’d like you to think about yourself. I hope the experience would change your mind. So, what will you do when you see people who ask for something in public? How will you inspire other bystanders to act immediately? Please remember you are the chosen person among those who overcome some terrible situations.

Sincerely, Masa

Why people are reluctant to help for strangers?

According to the task,I think the reason why people are reluctant to engage in social interaction with strangers is that people's lives are busy, they are often too rushed in the megacity.Or sometimes people fear that they will be asked to give additional help after the initial request. There's no denying the fact that in the big cities as New York ,the life speed is really fast, people are not capable of helping any time and where. They have work to do ,people may are too rushed by theirs job or family etc.Strangers are not people's family or friends,Therefore ,they might don't have time to do the additional help after the initial request. In this respect ,we may as well say people were changed by the living environment. From my point of view ,it would be better if people could give fair respect each other in the public aid.

Why do many people reluctant to interact with strangers?

I think the reason why people are reluctant to engage in social interaction with strangers is people are busy.  The more city develops, the busier people become. Many cities have been developed, and the people who live in the cities work thoroughly at their position for themselves or their family. However, these people tend to be reluctant to interact or get involved with strangers, more than people who don't live in the cities. For example, New Yorkers are well-known as cold-hearted people. They don't afford to contact with strangers for any reason because they are already busy enough. People may not think it is worth to act for strangers because it wouldn't be productive. People don't want to make more works for strangers who don't know and don't need to take care of. Busy society makes people non-emotional.

Reluctant to engage in social interaction

I think the reason why people do not intervene to give aid in public situation is that they are basically self-absorbed and uninterested in the lives of others. In my opinion, we used to cooperate each other, especially with family and neighbors to survive in a severe environment in the past. However, the more we have been able to get high technological products, the weaker our relationships between that members have become. Moreover, these products make us comfortable to live alone and nowadays, we have forgotten to help other people.

It’s obviously when you live in cities in Japan. It’s common you don’t know your neighbors and don’t have to care about them deeply because they are independent. Even though we meet with neighbors in front of our house, we usually don’t greet each other. There are some Japanese who think about only efficiency; advantages or disadvantages for someone. I think it’s one of cause to make us self-absorbed people.

Why people are reluctant to help for strangers?

Why people are reluctant to help for strangers?

Nowadays, many people are struggling from difficulties in life to support themselves or their families, so they try to work hard to overcome of life. On contrary , many foreigners travel for business or tourism, so they get a bad or good impression from the citizens. As a result,  there are two main reasons that citizens reject to help in social interaction with strangers such as people’s lives are busy, and they are often too rushed or people fear that they will be asked to give additional help after the initial request. In my opinion, it depends on different cultures of people to help strangers because some people think that strangers exploit them to have helps or waste time. For example, some people are too busy because they want to have good lives, and they tend to  achieve their tasks in punctuality such as works and appointments. They don't want to be in problems with others, so they will feel guilty in the end. Finally, many people try to ignore strangers because they think that foreigners will ask for another helps, so people would not be fulfilled for them in special situations.

People are reluctant to engage in social interaction with strangers.

The reason why people are reluctant to engage in social interaction with strangers is that people don't feel competent or qualified to help. With the development of science, especially Internet, people tend to be difficult to communicate each other, because people recently reduce their time to communicate in reality and increase their time to communicate in Internet. This incident makes people lose their self-confidence to take communication with someone, furthermore, people avoid talking with someone, especially with strangers. This less communication also cause their losing competent or qualified to help strangers, and they also avoid being spoken by strangers and  involved in some event which is not their business.

In addition to the less communication, the development of science has reduced a chance to be asked to help by someone, because people are becoming to do almost all of things by themselves with this development. According to this decreasing, people are losing experiences to help someone, and the less experience decreases their abilities and self-confidence to help someone.

So,people are reluctant to help strangers because of their less competent or qualified.

Why people are reluctant to help for strangers?

People are reluctant to engage in social interaction with strangers because their lives are busy and they are often too rushed. Most of the time, especially among adults who are working, people would like to slow down and have meaningful social interactions with people whom they just met, but they just can’t because of their busy schedules and they have to rush to get other things done. For example, in an office, standing somewhere in a line or talking to the shop owner as you buy something or just as you get a coffee in the morning, there are many times when a person would really like to take a few minutes and interact with another person probably because they would like say or ask something. However, this doesn’t happen because of the fast schedules that people have. Instead of taking a few minutes to talk to a person, someone might choose to just continue to what they are supposed to do because there are many other things to do in the same day and their schedule is rushed. People do not avoid interacting with strangers because they are not interest or concerned with them. It is because they are often busy. Even for strangers whom one may have a few minutes with, one might choose not to interact with them because considering their schedule, he or she may not be sure of meeting the person again.

Why are people reluctant to engage in social interaction with strangers?

I think people's lives are very busy, and they are often too rush, so people are reluctant to engage in social interaction with strangers. Nowaday, people pay attention only their work and lives, so this enviorment of a life make people are self-absorbed and uninterested to other people. When they walk on a road and use transports, they can meet many stranger who want to get a help such as a homeless. However, people want to avoid the strangers because this situation that people interact with stragers makes people too tired. Also, they want to focus their lives and emotion. In addition, people don't want to make problems. Especially, the news report that helper gets a trouble because of helped strangers. Therefore, people think if they help strangers, they may get caught into a trouble, and their works and time get nagetive effects. For example, some people want to get additional help to helper, so a helper want to avoid these situations. We have to focus a fact that we can't distinguish if the strangers are reliable people or not. Therfore, people think that they have to be careful the strangers. Also, people shift a responsibility on to another's shoulders. They are busy, so they think that someone may help strangers. Strangers are not people's family or friends, so they know that they don't need to help strangers because helping the strangers doesn't bring advantage.

Why people are reluctant to help for strangers?

I think that the reason why people are reluctant to help is that they fear that they will be asked to give additional help after the initial request. It’s common that strangers will ask extra help after people answer the easy questions, such as time, weather, and so on. Strangers just want a chance to contact people sometimes. In other words, they try to catch people’s attentions by easy questions. If people answered the questions and talked to strangers more times, they would probably reduce their vigilance. Then, people may be difficult to reject stranger’s requirements. Based on the situation, people sometimes are not willing to answer the stranger’s questions even though the question is simply and easy to answer. They don’t want to answer questions because they’re afraid to being stranded in this embarrassing situation. It’s just a simply way to protect themselves in the society.
Task 9
The reason why people are usually reluctant to socially interact with strangers is simply because they are self-absorbed and uninterested in the lives of others. This explains why in a day,a person meets several strangers and might actually not interact or even in some cases talk to any of them because he or she is only interested in what directly affects him or her and is not concerned with the other person who is a stranger. For example, when you enter into a class or hall that is filled with students who you don’t know, it is more likely that you will go and talk to the students you know or are your friends or the ones you think might help you with something. Therefore, this is the main reason why people usually are reluctant to socially interact with strangers, because they are mainly occupied with what deals directly with them and not other people. People are not reluctant to interact with other people because they are busy, incompetent, fear being taken advantage of or asked for more help. People do not interact with strangers because they have their own things to attend to and be concerned with.

Answer task 9 Amal

Nowadays, many people are busy in their lives, in their family, and in their jobs. So, people usually don't have a time to giving or asking aid to strangers or even to engage in social interaction with strangers. In my opinion, I think people fear that they will be asked to give additional help after the initial request because they think that will take a time and they don't have that much of time to spend it with a stranger, but they don't mind to giving information to other people. Also, there are other reasons that people are reluctant to engage in social interaction with strangers such as people scared of strangers and they don't trust with strangers because maybe they thank strangers are thieves or the strangers are bad people. So, they try not to give them anything or any information because if they give them anything and the strangers steal it how they will find them because they are the strangers and we don't have any information about them. So, people usually scared of them because we live in a big life or city not like in the past because in past people live in small cities and they know each other very well so they didn't have this attitude about the strangers in the past. Nowadays, everything is changed.

What would I put in the time capsule?

What would I put in the time capsule?

Nowadays, many traditional objects are important for people or communities in the world. They are linked our identity and cultures. Therefore, I would put somethings to exhibit ourselves as people in special region in Saudi Arabia live mostly in different habits and customs. First, I would put our formal clothes that I would not want to be forgotten in our sociality because every things have dramatically changed to acquire or adapt them to new things in the world by political, social or global factors. Actually, it is a very crucial to put our traditional clothes in the time capsule. I would say that people who live in the future show our clothes to be more importance because they will be unique objects. Also, I would put pictures of us when we was wearing traditional clothes in the time capsule. In our hometown, clothes can be classified into two types of factors: mountain man and villagers. In addition, I would put tools of farming and cooking such as a stone bowl, pan and dagger because it represents our culture, communities and how can we use in the life. Finally, I would put headdress that children, women, and man dress them for long time by special flowers. Everyone has to keep and save their habits and customs in his or her lives for next generation. In short, I would put traditional clothes, special tools, headdress in the time capsule to represent our customs of Jazanes people in the future.
