The People Who Drink Human Blood

For many people, the so-called Dracula or other blood-drinking creatures like vampires are just a simple myth or taboo. However, it is not necessary to be Dracula to drink humans’ blood. This strange but interesting fact is already happening in the U.S. and many other places around the world. People, who indeed drink humans’ blood, claim that the blood helps them cure a vast number of illnesses. In South Africa, some tribes do not drink humans’ blood but the animals’ blood because they consider that animals’ blood strengthens them and somehow purifies them. Some people drink blood because it is a curative remedy. Others however, do it because of ritual practices that have to do with their beliefs.
Doctors say that people who drink blood may have psychological problems. Nevertheless, those who truly feed on blood argue that after drinking the liquid they feel relieved from headaches, stomachaches, depression, and many other health symptoms. For minor health problems, one does not need a donor, except if that person chooses to drink blood.
People who sell their blood to blood-drinkers are called donors. Usually these donors fill containers and hand them to the buyers. In other cases, the donor cuts his own flesh and lets the blood-drinker drink from the wound. Before the blood sucking process, the donors must pass a blood test to ensure he is not infected or sick. The same security requirement applies to the individual who will drink the other person’s blood so that neither one gets infected.
Even though some people do not understand why others drink blood, the reality is that neither those who drink blood know the reason either. They just suck blood because that helps them with their health problems. Scientists have no found evidence of any person with psychiatric difficulties. This means that the blood-drinking concept is true.
