The surprising new reason why eating fried foods may be good for you

Fried food may not be so terrible for you after all. A recent study publish in Food Chemistry found that the antioxidant content of deep-fried food was significantly higher or boiled veggies. Adding a fat source to vegetables e.g. roasting them with olive oil or using full-fat salad dressing instead of fat-free stuff boots absorption of fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K . This is not a secret among nutritionists. So it is not totally illogical to think that deep-frying could actually help you. When vegetables are fried in a healthy oil, antioxidant compounds called phenols in the oil are transferred to veggies, said Fraces Largeman-Roth, RD. As for other greasy goodies like fried chicken, popcorn shrimp, and cheese curds, these foods have lower water content than vegetables, which does not allow them soak up as many phenol from the oil, Largeman- Roth speculates. Although these findings are exciting, they do not give you caret blanche tocrazy on those fried zucchini chips whenever you feel like it. All that oil means major calories, which could spell a fast-track to weight gain and other health problems. Frying is regular olive oil or refined vegetable oils , prolifically used my most restaurants, might have had the negative effect, Largeman-Roth said. Also, oil temperature is an issue, which can imbue your veggies with more antioxidants. Those benefits backfire if the oil gets too hot. If you want to eat fried food, stick to vegetables that you fry at home in high-quality oil, using a fry thermometer to make sure the oil does not go above its smoke point.

'Shocking' amounts of sugar found in popular hot drinks

A British campaign group called 'Action on Sugar' criticizes coffee shops like Starbucks for selling hot drinks with excessive amounts of sugar. For many of us, the day doesn't properly begin until we've had our morning fix of coffee. Now analysis has shown that what we're drinking isn't just milk and caffeine but worrying levels of sugar.“These are hot drinks and they're very calorific as a result of the sugar content and will contribute to tooth decay, weight gain, particularly, when you're not usually associating those products with that much calories and sugar.”As an example, a can of coke has an average of 9 teaspoons of sugar, but that's nothing compared to a Caffe Nero's Caramel Latte with 13 teaspoons of sugar. A Costa Chai Latte has 20 teaspoons of sugar but the worst offender was a Starbucks’s hot mulled fruit drink with 25 teaspoons of sugar, which is over 3 times the recommended daily intake. The drinks with the highest levels of sugar were found to be flavoured coffee, such as mochas and lattes, with many people not realising how much hidden sugar they’re drinking.“I’m diabetic so I can't have that!”.“There are definitely a lot of sugars, I know, in coffee generally. That's why I drink black coffee.”.“Well, I had a Caramel Machiatto, so there was plenty more than that in my drink that I chose for myself, but it's not something that I frequently have, so it really, actually, was a treat.”.“It's a Burnt Caramel Latte, so it's probably got even more than that. Love it! Love sugar!”.Costa and Starbucks say they’re committed to reducing sugar content, but the advice is to choose hot drinks with less sugar and make it an occasional treat.

Sea otters hold hands while sleeping.

This cute animal is found in the northen pacific ocean. They are the biggest animals in the weasel family. These animals have a lot of interesting things. For instance, they wrap themselves up whith plants from the ocean floor to cover their body. In addition, they are different from otthers mammals. They do not use thick layers of fat to keep them warm. They use their hair to keep them warm. They have a dense fur, almost a million hairs per square inch. In contrast, humans have 100.000 hairs in their wole head.

The most interesting thing about this annimals is their sleeping habits. They hold each others hands while they sleep so they do not separate each other from the group while they are sleeping. They do several things together. For instance, they eat in groups while they eat and rest. They use plant over their body while they sleep, as well.

An Anti-Corruption Charade in Honduras

Many Honduran people are protesting with torches because they claim the president, Juan Orlando Hernandez, is corrupt. They want Mr. Hernandez to resign. These protests began last year when a journalist revealed that millions of public health system dollars were used in the president’s campaign.
The reaction of the president was to invite protesters to have a dialogue. However, some of the protest leaders did not attend the meeting. Subsequently, Mr. Hernández proposed a government investigation to stop the protests, but it failed. As a result of this failure, the Organization of America States (O.A.S) stepped in and designed a plan to fight against corruption and criminal impunity in Honduras. However, Honduran protesters claimed that the O.A.S plan was not as strong as the recent Guatemala intervention plan for corruption. Therefore, the protesters rejected the O.A.S. as a helper to fight Honduran corruption.
Fifty four members of the Honduras Congress wrote a letter to the U.S Secretary of State, John Kerry, asking for support. After this request by the Honduran Congress, the United States government continues supporting Honduras and others countries from Central America with money for increased military and police services. The mission of these services is to decrease the criminal impunity in Honduras. Protesters assert that they are going to double their protest efforts and to ask for support from the United Nations. The Honduran protesters will not give up until they receive answers.

Will machines eventually take on every Job?

The global work force has been changing thanks to the automatic machines that perform jobs at high rates of speed and accuracy. Humans are no longer necessary in a wide variety of jobs since machines have replaced them. Machines are being designed to increase the output of goods and do the work of several men without needing breaks. Nowadays, technology allows people to manipulate mechanical devices through a remote control. In fact, the current smart technology does not even need a control to command a machine to do an activity; the machine itself accomplishes the task once programed to do so. A capable machine might eventually be replacing the entire work of a man as technology quickly advances.
In the United States, one of the most popular jobs is truck driving, at least in twenty-nine states. This job is not necessarily desired as a career rather, it is a job that is available, its pay is good, and a driving machine has not replaced it yet. However, it is one of the next jobs in the list to become computerized, controlled and driven by itself. If machines replace truck drivers, as many as 3.5 million people are going to be unemployed. This unemployment problem would represent a big issue to the country and indeed to the drivers’ families.
Technological breakthroughs represent a serious danger to the whole world, specifically to 47 % of U.S population whose jobs could be done by a computer. The issue is alarming but as robots take over many jobs, new ways of laboring appear as well. In the past many jobs have disappeared because of automation. However, many other jobs have come about because of technology. Overall, the creation of machines has brought forth more benefits rather than negative results for societies. With the simple push of a button, humans have saved time, improved production, and meliorated the quality of goods. All this is something that would not have been accomplished without the invention of machines.
