“The
much-loved hit series Sherlock is returning for Season 4 in 2017” says today’s article by Collider.com which is a film
website. Sherlock is a crime drama series and have been broadcast on TV since
2010. Two year has passed since Last series (Season 3), a fourth series was
announced in May 2016. 
Needless to
say, “Sherlock” based on “Sherlock Holmes” that is the most famous private
detective novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. There are many novels
and movies base on Sherlock Holmes since a long time ago. Do you know the
difference between Sherlock and other series? I will introduce you to some
points. The most important point is this series are set in modern-day London.
This is not set in 19th century. Second, Sherlock Holmes is known to
use various tools like microscope, magnifying glass, a cane but “present”
Sherlock Holmes uses modern technology, such as smartphone, the internet, GPS and
nicotine patch to give up smoking. Next, I take up a relationship with John
Watson who is Sherlock Holmes’s assistant and a friend. In the traditional
story, they call each other by last name as “Holmes, Watson”. On the other
hand, in the modern story, they call each other by first name as “Sherlock, John”.
In addition, they are often mistaken as gay couples. I think this is just a modern sensibility.
In this way, Modern Sherlock Holmes is being made with a lot of
originality. I’m really looking forward for the day to be broadcast the new
series.
