Lollapalooza2016!!

Lollapalooza” will be held at Grant Park, Chicago on this weekend. Do you know about it? This festival is one of most famous music festivals in the world and introduces many musicians and various music to us. For example, it was introduced as “Top 10 Rock Music Festivals in the world” by the link below. Lollapalooza is held over 2 or 3 days for a typical year but it will be 4 days to celebrate the festival’s 25th anniversary.

I will quote some sentences from today’s Chicago Tribune. “J. Cole, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers and LCD Soundsystem are slated to headline Lollapalooza, which runs Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The 170-plus acts among eight stages are expected to draw about 100,000 music fans each day to Grant Park.” I recommend this article because it described a detailed map, how to get there, how to get tickets, and so on. It is written that General admission passes have been sold out and only VIP passes are available but General admission is still available in unofficial site as Vivid seats.

If you don’t plan to go there but are interested in this event. “Lollashop” has been opened at Magnificent Mile, Chicago and you can get limited-edition collaboration goods with the Chicago Blackhawks, Bulls and Cubs. How is Chicago’s souvenir?

The Robot Chef

In the 21st century, we can see many things that have developed very well around us, compared with the past. Among these developed things, robotic technology is the one of well developed parts. Robots are created for making human works easier. This time, a robot can do anything even cooking and serving. There's a machine, called 'The BratWurst Bot', that is able to cook as well as human does from ordering to serving.

German technology company, Forschungszentrum Informatik (FZI), invented this robot chef. The BratWurst Bot looks very simple - it has only one arm with tongs to hold and pick up the sausages, two RGB cameras that notice position of sausages and check the color of sausages in order to perceive when should turn sausages. The way The BratWurst Bot works is this - first, it takes orders from customers calculating the number, and then uses an certain algorithm to regulate RGB camera to cook. After sausages are cooked, put them on plates.

FZI demonstrated that robots can make human tasks easily by operating The BratWurst Bot at the 53rd Stallwächterparty (Stable Guard party) in Berlin. That day, this bot chef made and served more than 200 sausages by itself. Even though it is not available to use generally and cooks only sausages, other people might try to make this kind of robot more perfectly. Someday robots might be able to threaten people's position. However, truly will it be able to replace human with robot.

Russians See in

"Pokemon Go" Satanism, Degradation And National Security Threat

While everyone everywhere enjoying Pokemon Go chasing, the world famous mobile game met resistance in Russia.

So what's wrong with this game? Hmm, IN GENERAL, the game is fun and showing us new ways to play mobile games. It also can bring people out of their dusty houses to the streets. By checking in "Pokestops", players can discover something new for themselves. Sounds really good!

But some game options like using a camera while you catching pokemons, awaken deep feelings of conspiration theory in some people.

Russian retired major general says it's a smart way US secret agencies want to get secret Russian information, by using stupid recruiters who will make secret objects pictures while trying to catch a pokemon.

The Orthodox Union of Cossacks called to ban "Pokemon Go" because their leader, Andrey Polyakov, said: “We need to drag people out of the virtual world; otherwise it all smacks of Satanism." & "As for churches and temples, holy places, cultural institutions, children’s institutions, this absolutely has to be banned."

Russian senator from upper house, Russian orthodox church speaker, even Russian ultranationalist thinker got something unite them and this is their demonizing "Pokemon Go" game.

Nobody knows how will turn the situation in Russia around "Pokemons" but let's hope they will be free enough to bring simple Russian gamers positive emotions.

The Right Way to Bribe Your Kids to Read

How to make your children read in summer or on a vacation ?  Children need to read on summer to continue their education when school stopped, but also they need to enjoy their holiday. The more children keep reading, the higher education they will have. Many parents try to make their children keep reading while they are on a holiday, and the easy way to make it is through a bribe. For example,  if we want our children to read, and they prefer to do something else, the solution is a bribe. British educational publisher applied a survey to parents with children from 3 to 8 years old, and these parents admitted offering their children rewards for reading (Dell'antonia) . “If you pay kids to read you’ll get them to read,” said Edward Deci, the author of “Why We Do What We Do” and a professor of psychology at the University of Rochester. “They’ll continue to read until you end the experiment, and then they’ll stop.” (Quoted by Dell'antonia). Some kids pretend that they read in order to get money, but  they didn’t read anything. For this reason, you have to pay attention if your kids read it or not.  Actually, some experts agree that bribe kids can be useful, especially for younger learners. Finally, you have many ways to bribe your kids to read, not only money make them reading, but also you can give them incentives. We should make our children read any book or story that interest them, also we have to show them that we do enjoy reading, too.

Pokemon Go: A New World

Pokemon Go has changed the virtual games' industry. According to Tam (2016) and Wingfield and Isaac (2016), Pokemon Go is completely different front the traditional games since it prompts people to move to different parts of the city instead of just staying sitting down on their home. Pokemon Go uses augmented reality and digital maps, which allow players to see creatures in the real world through their smartphones' cameras, for then to catch them using virtual Poke-balls (Wingfield & Isaac, 2016).

This revolutionary game is changing the world, opening a huge door to explore augmented reality in different fields. Wingfield and Isaac (2016) claims that this type of technology is a very supporting tool for architects in order to visualize their building before to start constructing them. Pokemon Go has also helped many restaurants and stores to attract people due to the fact that they have been "luckily" assigned as Pokemon Gym, which means that they will have many Pokemon players around their location throughout the day. In this sense, "a bar in Harrisonburg, Va., was offering a 10-percent discount to Pokemon players on a specific team," explains Wingfield and Isaac in their article published in The New York Times.

However, Pokemon Go has also brought some negative effects in society. According to Wingfield and Isaac (2016), it has increased crime and the amount of people going into private properties. For this reason, "local law enforcement, health groups, and city agencies have issued tips on how to safely play Pokemon Go," explains Tam (2016).

Wingfield and Isaac also mentions that Pokemon Company worked in cooperation with Niatic to create the games using the Google's Digital Mapping Services. They also says that this game will provide good economic incomes to the company. Although the game is free, it offers players some items for sell that support them to improve their level of experience quickly. They also look for sponsors - stores or restaurants - which want to become Pokemon Gyms to attack customers (2016).

The fiber for Pokemon Go is increasing everyday and everywhere. This awesome game has attracted different age and culture people. It is also a new step into new technology. Many people are already playing it, so what you are waiting for. Enjoy the new world technology with Pokemon Go.
